Norma L. Reddick

Norma L. Reed Reddick age 82, of Versailles, IL formerly of Quincy died on Friday, Sept. 18, 2009 in Blessing Hospital. Norma was born April 12, 1927 in Shelby Township, MI a daughter of Victor and Helen (Riley) Owsley. She first married Carl Reed, and later wed Elmer Reddick.

Norma worked at Davis Cleaver Co. for 35 years, retiring as an Inspector.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Norma dearly loved her grandchildren and time spent playing with them, and she was known to join them in a game of basketball. She made many quilts and made sure that each of her grandchildren received one. Norma had many interests, especially collecting dolls, doing crafts, puzzles and word searches, reading her “True Story” Magazines and tending to her cat and plants.

Survivors include: a son Randy Reed of Quincy;
a daughter, Charlotte Hester and her husband Randall S. of Versailles, IL;
two brothers, Orville Owsley, Jr. and his wife Jean and Donald Owsley and his wife Glo;
two sisters, Ruby Thomas and Gloria Gonterman all of Quincy;
5 grandchildren, Angela Heaston and husband Lonnie; Tina Meyer and husband Ray, Keith Reed; Lisa Barfield and husband Edward and Randall T. Hester and wife Lynsey;
14 great grandchildren, Levi, Emili and Cassi Heaston; Jessica, Jorden and Brook Meyer; Jake, Katie, Seth and Lucas Reed; Erika, Lance, Erin and Landon Barfield.
Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert and Lawrence Owsley; a sister Lorraine Schuerman and a daughter in infancy, Carlene Joan Reed and two daughters-in-law..

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation is Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh.
Memorials are suggested to the Blessing Cancer Center.
