Norma Jean Barnes

Norma Jean Barnes, age 77, of 3825 Halfpap LN, Quincy, died on Sunday, March 31, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. Norma was born on February 27, 1936 in Quincy, IL the daughter of Thompson Lester and Frances Marie (Maples) Thomas. She married Allen Louis Barnes on July 17, 1954. He survives.

Norma retired from Quincy Paper Box and was very passionate about her family and her beloved cat ‘Bootie’. She also loved to cook and do her amazing arts and crafts to give out to her family and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband of 58 years, she is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Allen Lee Barnes and his wife Becky of Quincy; Linda Hall of Quincy and Johnny Barnes and his wife Anita of Golden, IL.
TEN GRANDCHILDREN: Shaun Barnes and his girlfriend Kayla; Donnie Barnes and his wife Emily; Brandy Barnes and her boyfriend Shane; Melissa Franklin and her husband Joseph; Michelle Matticks and her husband Josh; Brooke Barnes; Levi Benton; Emily Miller; Anthony Holmes and Isabella Holmes.
NINE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Haley, Kelci, Breanna, Kassidy, Dylan, Arianna, Katelynn, Alyssa and Chase.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother: Donald Lee Thomas.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Terry Cain. Entombment in Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Glory Worship Center in Clayton, IL.

    Sadness fliies away with time when love is lost do not bend your head in sadness instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven for there your broken heart has been there to heal
