Norbert F. Vonderheide

Norbert F. Vonderheide, age 75, of 4924 Lake Ridge Dr., formerly of Liberty, Illinois died on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 29, 1935 in Quincy, IL, the son of Rome & Agnes (Peters) Vonderheide. He married Mary Maxine Jansen on May 20, 1961 in St. Francis Catholic Church, Quincy. She preceded him in death on November 9, 2007.

Mr. Vonderheide worked for Electric Wheel and then for Titan Wheel for a combined 40 years. Norbert also farmed for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a long time member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. Norbert greatly enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and visiting with his friends and family.

He is survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Karen Bartz & her husband Paige of Gladstone, MO; Kay Allen and her husband Jon of Quincy, and Kent Vonderheide and his wife Chris also of Quincy
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Brooke and Kelsey Vonderheide of Quincy and Jake & Eli Bartz of Gladstone, MO
A SPECIAL FRIEND: Nancy Altgilbers of Quincy
TWO BROTHERS: Roy Vonderheide and his wife Joan of Fowler, IL and Ferdie Vonderheide and his wife Carolyn of Quincy
ONE SISTER: Margie Mast of Payson
SISTER-IN-LAW: Patty Vonderheide of Quincy
Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive.

In addition to his wife, Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Virgil Vonderheide, two daughters in infancy, Linda & Lisa and two sons: Kevin & Keith.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 9:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 9:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church or to the American Diabetes Association.
