Na’Vonte Da’Zhon Cardenas
Na’Vonte Da’Zhon Cardenas age 17, of Quincy passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12:56 a.m. in his home. He was born in Quincy on August 3, 2005. He is the son of ‘Johnnae La’Rai Pleasant and Manuel Antonio Cardenas; Barbara Stemmons and Steve Cleesen.
Na’Vonte had attended Transitions and was currently a Senior at Quincy High School. He will be remembered for his big smile and how he was always happy. He liked being with people, horses and going swimming. Sponge Bob was his favorite character and N’aVonte loved everything Sponge Bob.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his siblings: Adri’Onte Littlejohn; Lee Weatherspoon, Jr. Ja’Marion Weatherspoon and bonus brother Cole Abbey
Grandparents: Michelle (Jajuan) Pleasant, Flora (Alberto) Fernandez, Mark (Tylette) Abbey.
Aunts: Markesha Abbey, Aranisha King, Shakayla Abbey, Shakerra Abbey, TaiJah Humphrey, Lenaezah Chism, Markcaina Abbey and Nicole King Uncles: Marquise Abbey, Markahl Abbey, De’An Humphrey, Marchris Nixon, and Demongelo Abbey. Bonus Family includes: Sylvia “Silly” Abbey, Viola Mangham, Orlanda Abbey, Everette “Kiel” Abbey, Craig “Fats” Abbey, Belinda Abbey, Henry Johnson II, and Imani Johnson. Also survived by Tremass “Tony” Pleasant, Michael “Money” Pleasant, Stephen “Horseman” Pleasant, Tom Abbey, Sam Abbey, Diane Abbey, and Charlene “DeeDee” Stapleton. Special friend, Haley, and MANY other relatives also survive.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Mattie Pearl Abbey and Marie Watson-Pleasant. Great-grandfathers, Everette Abbey and Samuel Pleasant. Aunts, Sandra Jones, Royce Warren and Shirley Milsap; Uncles, Randy Pleasant, Charles Watson, Sr.;, Richard Abbey, William Abbey; Mark and Marcus Abbey.
Two brothers in infancy, Orlando Pleasant and Ty’Ran Weatherspoon.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to the services.
Miss you already Navonte you was always full of smiles cuz when we came over at aunt barbs in which you would always look up and seen your cousin Wendell come thru and he always came in your room and said hey cuz i see your smile always got that smile and made sure you were okay with cartoons on your tv you maybe gone but your never forgotten about cuz RIH the bias family
I will never forget his contagious smile at Transitions. His bright light will continue to shine through eternity.
