Naida J. Hamann
Naida J. Hamann, age 89, of the Bradford Villa, formerly of 301 North 8th, died on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 12:15 PM in the Home. She was born on July 15, 1921 in Quincy, the daughter of William Elmer & Margaret C. (Hellhake) Storck. She married Donald F. Hamann on August 10, 1961 in Golden, IL. He preceded him in death on October 14, 2001. Mrs. Hamann worked for the Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 23 years and then for the Mercantile Bank for 17 years, retiring in 1983. Naida was a graduate of Quincy Senior High School. Naida was a former long time member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Naida is survived by:
ONE SON: Robert J. Hamann and his wife Diane of Quincy;
ONE DAUGHTER IN LAW: Doris Hamann of Quincy
SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN: Anita Hood, Diana Hamann, Niki Willis and her husband Derrick; Shae Myers, Ky Hamann, James Stephen Hamann, and Arista Baugherly and her husband Jason.
THREE BROTHERS: Alan J. Storck, James L. “Larry” Storck and his wife Karen and Richard E. Storck and his wife Jan.
Along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Naida was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons: James S. Hamann and Ronald L. Hamann and two brothers: William E. Storck and Eugene R. Storck.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 11:30 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:30 until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
