Myrna Ruth Murphy, age 86, of Mt. Sterling, IL (Heritage Manor Nursing Home) died Friday, May 6, 2022 in the Home. Myrna was born on March 2, 1936, in Freeport, MI, the daughter of Carl J. and Ellen Mae (Parrish) Murphy.

After high school graduation, she served in the US Navy as a photographer. She was last employed as a photographer by Chrysler Corp.
She was of the Lutheran faith. Myrna was gifted with an artistic ability that showed in her home decorating, designing and making stain glass pieces, small wood dolls and her photography. She had a great sense of humor and would help anyone she could.

Myrna is survived by her brother, Carl Murphy of Canton, MI, a niece Vicki Firby-Smith of Williamsburg, VA and ten nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and one great great great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Florence Little, Bonita Woods and Shirley Ann in infancy and two nephews.

Cremation rites to be accorded followed by graveside services at Sunset Cemetery with military honors at a later date.
