Mrs. Clemith M. Maddox

Mrs. Clemith M. Maddox age 71, of Quincy, died on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in her home. Clemith was born in Quincy on July17, 1944 a daughter of Earl and Nora Louise (Heck) Bowen. She married Maurice Maddox on August 24, 1981 and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1997. Clemith worked as a C.N.A. and assisted with therapy at St. Vincent’s Home for 31 years prior to retiring in 2009.

She was of the Baptist faith. Her hobbies included crocheting, sewing and going fishing. She also liked working on Sudoku puzzles.

Survivors include:

A son, Turhan D. Bowen; a granddaughter, Carla Bowen; one brother, Henry “Hank” Bowen and his two daughters and 4 sons all of Quincy; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parent, her husband, 4 brothers: William, Earl “Ike”, Joseph, and Franklin Bowen and 3 sisters: Earlene Bowen in infancy; Tillie Chestnutt and Anna Powell.

The family gratefully acknowledges the wonderful care provided by the Hospice nurses and staff during their time with Clemith.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Blessing Hospice or to the Family.

    I worked with Clm for years. She was one of the most amazing CNAs I have ever worked with in my life. She was such a genuine caring person. Although I haven’t seen her for years she left an imprint on my heart. My condolences to your family
