Mrs. Betty Ann Ott

Betty Ann Ott, age 90, of St. Vincent’s Home, Quincy, formerly of 3021 Kingsridge Dr., Quincy, died on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in the home. She was born on June 20, 1925 in Springfield, IL, a daughter of Othmar & Ada (Ridder) Klene. She married A. Hubert Ott on September 10, 1949 in St. Boniface Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives.

Mrs. Ott was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School in Burlington, IA. She worked as a window decorator for JC Penney in Burlington, IA and was a telephone operator in Quincy. She also worked for Klene Motors, which is how she met her husband Hubert. The most important and longest running job of her life was raising her family and taking care of her home.

She was a member of the Church of St. Peter and was active in Cursillo, bible studies and the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine. She was past treasurer of Women’s Aglow.

In addition to her husband, Hubert, she is survived by:
FOUR DAUGHTERS: Ann Ventrillo and her husband Bob, Marjorie Scott, Teresa Scuderi and her husband Sam and Mary Kinscherf and her husband Ron;
FOUR SONS: Bernard Ott and his wife Cyndi, William “Bill” Ott and his wife Aleen, Paul Ott and his wife Debi and George Ott and his wife Donna;
TWENTY-ONE GRANDCHILDREN: Kevin & Kristen Ventrillo, Casey & Abby Ventrillo, Kelly & Jason Klinner, Kori Griffin, Becky & Steve McMurray, Jeff Akright, Joseph & Kelsey Ott, Hannah & Steve Ajdinovich, Hayley Ott, Jacob Ott, Anthony “Tony” & Anya Scuderi, Amy & Dan Sy, Nicholas “Nick” & Leslie Scuderi, Laura & Shawn Williams, Thomas “T.J.” Ott and his fiance’ Kristin Doellman, Katy & Jordan Goers, Christopher & Vanessa Ott, Brady & Jane Ott, Lindsey Ott, Abby & Mark Kerkhoff and Zachary Kinscherf;
EIGHTEEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN: Jacob Ventrillo, Samuel Ventrillo, Emily Klinner, Grace Schondelmeyer, Noah Schondelmeyer, Sofie McMurray, Sarah Akright, Bailey Akright, Riley Akright, Jase Akright, Ben Sy, Ava Sy, Calvin Scuderi, Olivia Williams, Bailey Williams, Kingston Goers, Maddox Goers and Madison Ott;
A BROTHER, Don (Mary) Klene of Arvada, CO;
SISTERS, Jean Klene of South Bend, IN and Alberta (Don) Wand, of Springfield, MO

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph “Joey” Ott.

Betty’s family would like to thank Betty’s caregivers at St. Vincent’s Home for the loving care they gave Betty over the last 3 and a half years.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter with Msgr. Leo Enlow officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame or to a Charity of the Donor’s Choice.

    I remember Betty from when I taught at St. Boniface and those early Cursillio days. she gave a lot. I am sure you miss her and you are in my prayers. God Bless you, Sandy
