Monty L. Powell

Monty L. Powell, age 75, of Camp Point, IL died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 in his home. He was born on February 8, 1943 in Quincy the son of Edward & Naomi (Hinshide) Powell.

Monty was a 2nd generation dairy and grain farmer. He felt blessed to be able to farm with his own son. He enjoyed driving his blue tractor and his Gator on his land. Without doubt, Monty was a hard working man. He loved his family and greatly enjoyed visiting with his family, neighbors and friends. He liked watching his grandkids play ball and their other activities and knew that when they were around there was, ‘Never a dull moment’.

He is survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: Traci Graham and her husband Brad of Camp Point, IL; and Matthew T. Powell also of Camp Point.
SIX GRANDCHILDREN: Lanessa Wentura and her husband Nicholas, Jackilyn Graham and Evan Graham; Kaleigh Powell, Eli Powell and Jace Winn.
TWO SIBLINGS: Linda Spencer and Dennis Powell and his wife Deborah.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Edward Powell.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 7:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until the time of the services at 7:00. Memorials may be made to the Unity Point Hospice or to the Liberty Illinois FFA Foundation.

    So sorry for your loss, We enjoyed Monte so much. The boys riding in the combine and him coming in to eat supper with us. He will be greatly miss. Our thoughts and prayers with you all.
