Mildred Pauline McIntosh, age 91, of Quincy, IL, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, December 11, 2023 in Barry, IL. She was born on November 14, 1932 in New Canton, Illinois, the daughter of Otis Horton and Gladys (Lynch) Horton. She was the youngest of seven siblings. She married Charles Stone on October 28, 1951 and had two daughters Pamela (Stone) Waterman and Terri (Stone) Allen. Charles preceded her in death on December 3, 1967. Millie went on to marry Harry McIntosh, Jr, on July 3, 1976. Harry preceded her in death on March 27, 2022.

Millie worked for the Illinois State Police, Motorola, and then later at Fergie’s Auto in Quincy, IL.

Millie devoted her life to her loving husband, Jr, her daughters and grandchildren. For many years she led the youth groups at New Canton Methodist Church and more recently was a member of Melrose Methodist Church. She loved to spend time outside with her husband talking to neighbors and friends or inside cooking and baking or working on a craft project. Millie will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Millie is survived by her daughters Pamela Waterman (Daniel Stiles) of Decatur and Terri Allen (Robert) of Quincy. Her grandchildren Justin Hatton, Gina Waterman (Steven Zhupa), Jason Allen, Darron Allen (Allison) and Kristin Bradfield (Scott). Her great-grandchildren Mackenzie and Bailey Allen, Claudia and Bennett Allen and Oliver Bradfield. Her sister Mary Jo Phillips, several cousins and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Charles Stone and Harry McIntosh, Jr. and her siblings Delbert Horton, Margaret Damon, Wanda Mae Hayes, Emily Rohlfs, Emmett Horton.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 AM time until the time of the services at 11:00. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
