Mildred “Millie” Forrest Brown age 98, of 1601 Vermont St. Quincy passed peacefully surrounded by her family , Sunday, September 14, 2008 in Blessing Hospital.

Millie was born March 26, 1910 in Quincy, the daughter of Edward C. Forrest and Maria T.
(Osterholdt) Forrest. She married Earl T. Brown on March 29, 1941, he preceded her in death.

Early in their life together, she and Earl traveled extensively in Europe when he worked for Bechtel Co. building refineries around the world.

Millie worked for Kirlin’s Hallmark at the Quincy Mall for over 25 years.

She was formerly a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Millie loved spending time with her family more than anything. One of her very favorite treats was custard pie, and she enjoyed it as often as possible.

Survivors include: a daughter, Tina Lohman of Quincy; four grandchildren, Heidi Young, her husband Jay and their children: Josh Lohman, wife Ashley Dalton and Carley Hiland all of Quincy; Chip Lohman ,his wife Deanna and their children: Caitlin, Emilie, Mallorie and Rachel Lohman all of Springfield, IL; Derek Lohman, wife Maribeth and their children: Samantha and Fletcher Lohman all of Eureka, MO; Ilsa Terrell and husband Louis Degonia and children: Alexandria, Madison, Bryce and Zavier Terrell and Ace Degonia all of Quincy; two great-great grandchildren; three nieces, one nephew and many great nieces and great nephews also survive.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Esther Brewer and Fern Points and a brother, Francis Forrest.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with John Carberry, celebrant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital would be appreciated.
