Mildred L. Brown
Mildred L. Brown age 85, of St. Vincent’s Home. died on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 9:46 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Mildred was born June 18, 1924 in Hannibal, MO, a daughter of George and Clara (Johnson) Ledbetter. She married Orville B. Brown on December 7, 1945 in Quincy, he preceded her in death on July 20, 1989.
Mildred was a housewife and mother.
She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her children, a son Richard Brown, daughter, Mary Cook, both of Quincy; and a daughter, Barbara Johnson and her husband Mike. Two grandsons, Paul “Chris” Thomas and his wife Monda of Batesberg, SC and Thomas E. Brown and his wife Karen of Quincy; 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandsons and nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Robert Lee Brown, a brother, Calvin Ledbetter, sisters, Ruby Wheeler, Mary Patrick, June Thomas, Rose Mudd and Helen Dailey.
A Memorial Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Sunset Cemetery by the Rev. George Tomko. There is no visitation, but family and friends are invited to attend the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent’s Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
