Dear Duesterhaus Family,
I am so very, very sorry to hear of your loss. Words cannot convey my deepest sympathy. I have many dear memories of your family as ‘neighbors’ and through 4-H. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Judy, your family is in my thoughts and prayers
at this difficult time in your life. Losing a child must be the hardest thing to endure. We don’t understand why these things happen, but must trust and rely on the Lord. May family and friends be a great comfort to all of you.
May she be lifted up to Heaven and all of its glory.
Michelle was a fellow Phi Mu Sister, whom I only got to know for a short time. Whenever she came into town, I remember her always stopping by campus. She is a wonderful person to know and will be greatly missed. I know an angel is watching over all of us. LIOB
We are deeply saddened by your loss. We hope that time will help ease the pain and that the warm, wonderful memories will dominate the feeling of loss. Michelle will always be with you – in your memories and in your hearts.
I worked in the TAM Department at the University of Illinois when Michelle did her undergrad degree. She was such a joy to know. Always smiling and happy. She was an outstanding young lady. You have my deepest sympathy during this very difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
To Everyone in Michelle’s Family,
I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of Michelle. There is nothing I can say to take away your pain and incredible sense of loss. Please know we began the school day two days ago with prayers for Michelle and all of you.
Michelle was a brilliant student who was the perfect mix of intellect, sensitivity, and faith. I will never forget the football game when we presented the Mascot Mule to a West Point representative. Before Lonny Lemon rode the mule on the football field, the mule had bucked the West Point young man onto the ground on the east side of school. Knowing that Michelle had background with horses, we asked her to “calm down” the mule and get it ready for Lonny’s ride. She did so and Lonny ended up on the mule instead of on the ground.
More important, Michelle was a young lady respected by staff and students.
She is in heaven–the people on earth who loved her so much need the prayers.
God bless all of you and God bless Michelle. We need to thank God for her presence on earth. It was too short, she was a blessing every minute of her life. With greatest sympathy-Ray Heilmann, Principal of Quincy Notre Dame High School.
Note: I will not be able to attend the Mass of Resurrection Saturday morning because I have to be in Riverton, IL to supervise the IHSA regional soccer game between QND and Riverton H.S. My thoughts and prayers will be with all of you.
my family and I share the sorrow of Michelle’s loss. I had the fortune of being Michelle’s labmate at the University of Illinois, while she was working towards her Master’s degree. She was full of a contagious joy, and we all in the lab shared many happy moments with her. My family and I truly admired Michelle’s strength throughout these difficult times–she has given all of us a lesson in living. We will pray that God gives you the strength to live through this difficult time, and offer you our sincere condolences. We will always keep Michelle in our memories and our hearts.
