Michele’s tragic demise took us all by surprise including me as an unemployed and closeted lesbian friend originally from romania but with a phd from nyu for whatever it is worth- not much in my case.

To her family….you know I love each and everyone of you! I thank you for being my family too! I’m always here if you need me, I hope you know that!

I was saddened to learn that Michele passed away. I was just thinking of your family a few weeks ago and wondering how all of you were doing. I miss you. While no words of mine can ease your loss, I just wanted you to know that I am grieving with you and thinking of you.

Jeff, Sean , Amethyst, Aunt Judy,
I am so sorry for your loss. The times in Chicago when I got to know Michelle were wonderful. I will remember how she opened up her home for us to come and have the best Thanksgiving dinner we ever had. She is a bright star in the sky and will be missed by so many. My deepest sympathy go out to you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
I was deeply saddened to hear about the death of Michelle.
I know how difficult this must be for you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Michelle was such a kind, gentle soul. She would do anything to help someone in need. Like help Jim Phillips when he broke his wrist playing wiffle ball in the park.
I remember when my Dad died my Sister Janet Mason,my Daughter Dusty Dawn and myself were out catching lightening bugs and turned them all loose in Michelle’s car outside the bar. We then went in and she had to tell us the call she had gotten about my Dad. She felt so bad and hugged each and everyone of us. She was Special
I know how much you will miss Michelle. I encourage you to draw on your strength and the strength of your family. When Jim died we all came together and helped each other, made it alot easier.

My sister’s one-of-a-kind, astonomically large
heart was known by many. I get through this
painful time by remembering Michele is not visible-
but she’s here with us, sitting on our shoulders
saying “I love you and the Chicago Cubs are going
to go all the way this year. Harry Carey and I
talked about it over two cold ones.”
My heart goes out to all the family. Shelly was always a spot in everyone’s day, and always had a smile for everyone when we were in school together. The class of 1979 was a better class to graduate with because of Shelly. She is loved and will be missed. With much sympathy.
