Michael Lee Hultz

Michael Lee Hultz, age 79, of Lewistown, MO, formerly of Quincy, IL, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 in the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown. He was born on January 17, 1943 in Quincy, Illinois , the son of Ervin and Emma (Deters) Hultz. He married Nancy Barnes on September 28, 1981 in Monticello, MO. She preceded him in death. Michael worked at Prince Minerals in Quincy for 40 years until his retirement in 2008.

Michael loved teaching sign language to others. Michael loved sports, especially baseball and wrestling. You did not disturb him when wrestling was on. Holidays was a big event for him. He enjoyed going to his daughter Judy’s house and spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He would go over every weekend to spend time and to feed the fish in the pond. He loved the country and telling stories of his childhood and travels.

Survivors include his step-daughter: Judy Pierce and her husband Ronnie of Maywood, MO.
STEP-GRANDDAUGHTER: Dana Reid and her husband Eddie of LaGrange, MO.
STEP-GRANDSON: David Murry and his wife Holly of Denver CO
STEP-GRANDDAUGHTER: Leanne Pierce
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Owen Reid, Sylvia Reid, Alex Murry and Izzy Murry.
Numerous nieces and nephews including Linda Boehn, and other relatives also survive.

In addition to his wife, Michael was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Rosemary Lauder and a brother Joseph Hultz and twin brothers in infancy.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM in Greenmount Cemetery. There is no visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Northeast Missouri or to the Country Aire Retirement Estates in Lewistown, MO.

    My deepest sympathy to Mike’s family. I worked w Mike at Prince. He was a good guy, friendly, and a very hard worker. He will be missed
