Michael L. Bence
Michael L. Bence, age 65, of Plainville, IL, died on June 6, 2016 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on November 1, 1950 in Quincy, IL the son of Earnest and Catherine (Lummer) Bence. He married Donna Davis on May 13, 1972. She survives. Mr. Bence was a 1968 graduate of Quincy High School. He attended college for both Autobody Mechanic and Upholstery. He was last employed for Walmart the last 15 years. Previous to that he had also worked for Frese Iron and Metal and the Deluxe Cab Company. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and mushrooming. He liked playing on the computer. He had played drums in a local band for years and had also played on a bowling team. He enjoyed country music, gardening and telling jokes. He loved the quality time spent with family, especially the grandkids.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Michael Bence and his wife Charlene of Canton, MO; Earnest Bence and wife Jamie of Quincy; Buffy Bence Myers and her husband Josh of Quincy and Little Ernie Bence.
GRANDCHILDREN: Mercedes Bence, Mikayla Bence; Cody Bence; Seaghon Bence; Tiffany Beath and Shawn Bence; Michael Hill; Amy Hill; Valen Hill and Harley Myers.
NINE Great Grandchildren
ONE BROTHER: David Bence, Sr., and his wife Linda
THREE SISTERS: Patty K. Miller, Christine Green, and Linda Miller and her husband Tony.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter: Cheyenne Myers, one brother William Bence and a daughter in law: Sue Bence.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 PM in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in South Side Cemetery in Clayton, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Family.
