Michael has been connected to my family for over 50 years. So let’s just call him family. My brother John Mason is the one who brought Michael in among us. He will be miss by all of us. He had a look of a adventurous Viking to me. I must tell this one dear story. I hold this personally in my heart toward Michael. It was over 10 years ago . I had lost my mother. I had felt strangely alone at that time. I really felt on the outside of life at that time. Michael had attended her funeral and I knew mother had been very fond of Michael. There came the time in the service for someone to speak. I felt a little set back and my thoughts were …I just don’t want to let her go. I then thought Una how can you not speak up for her now??? So I awkwardly to the floor. Well after service all met at my brother John’s house for our personalized reminiscing of our mother. Then came back my loneness. I suddenly felt a large hand grasp mine . It was Michael , that tall red headed Viking . He then said Una , you did your mother proud today. I just hope Michael will see what a tower of strength he had become with those kind words. He looked like a Viking but he was also a gentle Giant . We shall all miss you.

I attended grade school with Michael back in the 1950’s at St Johns School. I remember his RED HAIR! Michael became a friend of the family when he and my brother, John, struck up a friendship that lasted till his death. Michael was a very unique individual and will be missed by his friends of over half a century. RIP Michael Hesse~
