Melvin Godman

Melvin Godman, age 73, of Quincy, died on Monday, April 2, 2018 in his home. He was born on January 23, 1945 in Maywood, MO, the son of Melvin Earl & Ethel (Campbell) Godman. He married Terry (Grant) Goehl on June 17, 1989. She survives.

Mr. Godman was a police officer for the Quincy Police Department for many years until his retirement. He then was a realtor in the Quincy area. Melvin attended The Crossing.

Melvin loved camping and most importantly all the time spent with family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Vicky Windoffer of Florida; Ricky Godman and his wife Taunua of Hannibal, MO; Michael Goehl and his wife Jennifer of Quincy and Brian Goehl and his wife Kim also of Quincy.
NINE GRANDCHILDREN: Jenna Phillips and her husband James; Lindsey Tarman and her husband Josh; Tony Goehl and his wife Ashlie; Kayla, Kortney and Ashlynn Goehl; and Austin, Alex and Brianna Goehl.
ONE GREAT-GRANDSON: Jackson Phillips
ONE BROTHER: Harold Godman.
Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Melvin was preceded in death by: his parents, 3 brothers: Clarence, Lawrence and Chuck Pierce and 2 sisters: Roberta Washburn and Evelyn Czachurski.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
