I was Melissa’s supervisor on the Rehab Unit. I knew she was special from the day I met and interviewed her and basically hired her on the spot. She had extremely caring qualities with our patients. My favorite moment was when I came in early one day and she was playing songs a patient and his wife enjoyed and she was singing to him when getting him ready for his day. His wife absolutely LOVED Missy and she had such a special touch with him. She was dancing and waving a wash cloth while giving him a bath. To some, he was a challenge but to Missy he was her “favorite patient.” Many times on patient rouds she was recognized for her outstanding care and compassion. We are a small unit and a lot of tears were shed today. Welove and will miss here bright, smiling approach to patient care. God bless her family. She was certainly raised with great values and a wonderful sense of family which was evident in her care of her patients and her relationships with us,her co workers. She will truly be missed and remembered so fondly. If there is anything we can do, we are ready and able. We are so sorry for your loss and our thoughts are with you.

I am so very sorry to hear about Missy. I came to know her from working in the Security Department at Blessing Hospital. Missy was a very sweet woman who cared greatly about her job, our patients and others. I don’t think I ever saw her when she didn’t have a smile on her face!

God needed another angel and only the best would do, this is why our dear Missy, he chose you!

    With heartfelt sympathy,
