Melanie was my second cousin. We shared a great grandparents, Lansdown. I talked with her in 2009, but we lost track of each other. Will someone let me know how she passed away young?

Dear Megan and Nicole, Your Mom and I were very good friends in jr high and high school but lost track of each other after that. I lived away from this area until 2003 and didn’t know she was here in Quincy. I really regret not trying to find her. We had so much fun together-we rode our horses every day in summer (Duchess & Rock), we double-dated when she was going with your Dad in High School. Those were some fun times! I will miss her and you have my deepest sympathy. Love, Mary K

Megan and Nicole—I just read today’s (Sunday) paper, and I am shaking. Can you please call me and tell me what happened. Melanie has always been so special to me and I am so sorry to learn of her death. I talked to her not too long ago. She was asking me about a cleaning job she was going to start. I had wanted to go out and see her new place and never had yet. I am so sorry– I tried to reach out to her over the years, but I feel like I could have done more. I know she loved you girls more than anything and you are her pride and joy along with your families. She gave me a few things that I treasure, cuz they were from her. She did have such a soft, giving heart and she is so special. I always had a heart for her. I am so sorry, I won’t get to come to the visitation. We will be out of town in Indiana for a family reunion that is only once a year. Please call me, Megan or Nicole—-217-224-5297 or my cell–217-779-3475. I don’t know how to get in touch with you. I really need to hear from you. I wish I could see you before Wed. We are leaving Wed. afternoon. Thank you so much—Love you both–in Christ, Holly Miller
