Maxine McAllister
Maxine McAllister, age 82, of Curtis Creek, Quincy died on Thursday, May 17, 2018 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on April 23, 1936 in Quincy, IL the daughter of William & Blanche ( Starman ) Voth. She married Norman McAllister on March 20, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2017.
Maxine was a member of Faith Journey Church. She was a member of the North Adams Home Board, the Adams County Home Extension and the Illinois Flying Farmers.
She is survived by her children: Kevin (Sharon) McAllister of Warsaw, IL; Brian (Julie) McAllister of Ursa, IL; five grandchildren: Derek (Rebecca) McAllister; Travis (Kristin) McAllister; Emily (Chris) Twait; Tyler McAllister; Brooke McAllister; four great-grandchildren: Ava, Evie, Claire and Briar. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Voth.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to Faith Journey Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
My Love & Prayers go out to you all. I have such cherished memories of being with your family when I was young. Maxine always the regal lady who acted like a second Mom. Whether flying or driving over for visits or meeting up at Flying Farmer functions our parents could always be found together having a great time. I’m certain they’ve managed to meet up with Dad once again. Our family has been honored & blessed to have had Maxine (& Norman) touch our lives. I will miss this special Lady but I know she & Norman are flying in a place of beauty beyond imagining & having a wonderful time until we ALL meet again. May the Lord Bless & keep them both while they watch over all.

Aunt Maxine was an amazing person, faithful and loving to her husband and family. On the farm she worked hard in the house and in the fields, sharing meals with visitors (and asked us to help with chores!). She enjoyed living in France and traveling to several states, especially the year she was Flying Farmers “Queen”. As a community member she gave time and leadership. As a church member she shared her musical gifts. Maxine knew so much about family history and local connections. She had an infectious giggle and a determined spirit. Although I’m thankful she is with the Lord and at peace, I will miss her.
