Maurine Mumm
Maurine Mumm age 95, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 1328 Spruce and of Forest Park, IL died on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 9:36 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Home. Maureen was born October 3, 1914 in Moore, OK a daughter of Sidney F. and Fannie (Holman) Murphy. She married Fred A. Mumm on January 5, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK. He preceded her in death in February of 1988.
Maurine was a homemaker and a bookkeeper working at the Forest Park National Bank in Forest Park, IL from 1966 until her retirement in 1974. Maurine taught Sunday School at the Lutheran Church of St. John in Forest Park for 12 years. She was presently a member of the Lutheran Church of St. John in Quincy. Maurine was also a member of the St. John Ladies Aid and a member of the former St. James Quilting Society. She enjoyed gardening and she was an avid knitter and quilter.
Survivors include her daughters, Lynda Happel and her husband Mike of Quincy; Martha Biemolt and her husband Harry of Asheville, NC; a brother, Maurice Murphy of Midwest City, OK;
three granddaughters, Katherine Schelp and her husband Spencer; Madelyn Dow and her husband Bill and Claire Happel all of Chicago, IL; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Jane Schelp also of Chicago.
Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Edwin, Oran, Fred Murphy, and sisters, Edith Riggs, Alma Fletcher, Jerry Ray and Erma Hall,
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of St. John by Rev. Jeremy Latzke. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Church of St. John, Good Samaritan Home Development Fund or Quincy Public Schools Foundation.

I’m so sorry to hear of Maurine’s passing. I loved her dearly. She was my “favorite” aunt. I bet they are having a wonderful time in heaven! I will be praying for the family.
