OBITUARY ON MAURINE BUTLER

Maurine Butler, age 93, of the North Adams Nursing Home, formerly of 1401 North 15th, Quincy, died on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 8:07 PM in the Home. She was born on April 12, 1918 in Bucklin, Linn County, MO the daughter of Thomas & Dona (Wright) Jenkins. Maurine attended the Shelbina Grade School. She married Jasper C. Butler on February 28, 1937 in Shelbyville, MO. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1974. Maurine was a seamstress & folder for Weem’s and then Premier Linen.

Maurine’s greatest joy was taking care of her family.

She is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Barbara Janes of Canton, MO; Gary Butler and his wife Jean of Brooksville, FL; Jimmie Butler and his wife Deanna of Quincy, IL: and Marilyn Shaffer of Quincy.
ONE SISTER: Geraldine Fitzpatrick of Mexico, MO along with numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Maurine was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons: Donnie G. Butler and Charles Leon Butler, two brothers: Charles Jenkins and Gerald Jenkins and a sister: Maxine Cadwell.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM in the Kendal Cemetery in Kendal, Missouri by the Rev. Bryan Meado. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the North Adams Home.
