Mary Steinbrecher
Mary Steinbrecher age 85, of Quincy died on Saturday, January 5, 2019 in Good Samaritan Home.She was born on October 13, 1933 in Quincy, a daughter of George and Frances (Broerken) Burwinkle.She married Donald A. Steinbrecher on August 11, 1956 in St. Francis Catholic Church, he preceded her in death on February 5, 2013.
Mary was a graduate of the former St. Mary School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse who worked at the former Quincy Clinic for Dr. Murphy, Dr. Crossland and Dr. Drennan from whose office she retired.
She was a devout member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Francis and had served as a Girls Scout leader when her children were in grade school. Mary was a member of the K of C Auxiliary. She and her husband Don loved traveling together, and Mary also loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mary participated in bowling, camping and fishing for many years.
Survivors include her children: Margaret Steinbrecher; Donnie Steinbrecher and his wife Laurie; and Carol Steinbrecher all of Quincy.
Grandchildren: Jennifer Darrow and her fiancé, Oscar Kovalski; Anna Keithley and her fiancé, Christian McNay; Melissa Allen and her husband Jeremiah; William Steinbrecher and his wife Rachel; Katie Medley and her significant other John; and Kari Ann Steinbrecher and her significant other, Brady Genenbacher.
Great Grandchildren: Elizabeth, Monico and Scarlett; Lance, Priscilla and Alice; Hannah, Henry and Charles; Bailey and Alton; Connor and Vera.
Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David Steinbrecher, two daughters, Mary Frances Steinbrecher and Debra “Debbie” L. Steinbrecher; one grandson, Rob Steinbrecher; four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Church or to the Activities Fund at Good Samaritan Home.
