Mary R. Austin, age 95, of Edwardsville, IL, formerly of Titusville, FL and Quincy, died on Sunday, March 30, 2014 in Edwardsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 8, 1918 in Quincy, Illinois, the daughter of Alfred and Bernadine (Spohr) Clement. Mary married Fred Austin on Dec. 29 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1965. Mary worked as a volunteer in Titusville FL library for many years. She loved the library and to read.

Mary was of Catholic faith.

She is survived by four nieces: Mary Lou Dean-Price of Vandalia, IL, Barbara- Dean Gnaedinger of Pocahontas, IL, Leeta Dean- Redd of Edwardsville, IL, and Sandra Dean-Mirza of Scottsdale, AZ; and many great, great-great, great-great-great nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, Don Austin, one sister, Helen Dean, one nephew, Billy Dean and one niece, Sara Dean.

Private interment will be in the Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or to the Society of the Little Flower.
