Mary Maxine Shade, age 88, of 2631 Vermont, died on Saturday, July 27, 2013 in St. Vincent Home. She was born on August 19, 1924 in Quincy the daughter of Ralph & Anna Marie (Moore) Achilles. She married George Richard Shade on December 28, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He preceded her in death on April 8, 1986. Mrs. Shade was a self-employed seamstress in the Quincy area. Mary was a graduate of Quincy High School. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter.

She is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Carol Prevost and her husband Richard of Arvada, CO; Toni Rubison of Overland Park, KS; Sarah Bonness and her husband Rick of Quincy; Kathy Schachtsiek and her husband David of Quincy and Doug Shade and his wife Kim of Portland, OR.
THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Renee Jens and her husband Ken; Greg Prevost and his wife Amy; Keith Prevost and his wife Sara; Stephen Prevost; Justin Prevost-Schultz and his wife Hannah; and Hannah Prevost; Kelley Whisler and her husband Dan; Jill Bamber and her husband Norm; and Paul Rubison and his wife Whitney; Bruce Bonness and his wife Kelly and Brian Bonness and his wife Jing; Brad Wolf and Matt Wolf and his fiance Ellen Longbucco.

A SISTER: Betty Nichols and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Tony Achilles and George Achilles.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Church of St. Peter. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:00 AM until 11:00AM at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame or to the St. Vincent Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
