Mary Marie Holt
Mary Marie Holt age 68, of Quincy died on Sunday, May 31, 2020 in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Marie was born in Lonoke, AR on January 29, 1952, a daughter of Ernest “Buck” and Mary K. (Payne) Hills. She married George Edward “Ed” Holt on December 29, 1967 in Hannibal, MO. Ed preceded Marie in death on November 26, 2011.
Professionally, Marie worked at Micro Energy where she was a supervisor. Additionally, she worked at the former Adams County Employees Credit Union, she worked at Hobby Lobby and more recently, at the Salvation Army. Marie attended Vatterott College. Marie was affiliated with the United Pentecostal faith.
Marie loved gardening and taking care of her plants. She was an excellent cook. Marie loved travelling, trips to Las Vegas, dancing, and evenings out at the Elks and V.F.W. with “her girls”. She always looked forward to the Tuesday outings with girls to TCBY.
Survivors include a son, Scott Holt of Quincy; daughters, Angela Spurgeon and her husband Rick of Canton, MO and Terri Risley and her husband Phil of Palmyra, MO.
Her sisters and brothers, Ann (Joe) Hooper of Canton, MO; Kelly (Margie) Hills of Litchfield, IL; Leland Hills and Linda Schlueter both of Quincy; Jimmy (Kristen) Hills and Nancy Weber all of Quincy; Tommy Hills of Litchfield.
Grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) McCaskey of Harrisburg, MO, Joshua (Jessica) Crenshaw of Canton, MO; Jordan Risley and Eric Risley both of Palmyra, MO; Savannah (Greg) Rucker of Minooka, IL; Paul Blumke of the U.S. Virgin Islands; Jonathan Blumke of Des Moines, IA, Stephen (Sarah ) Blumke, of LaGrange, MO; Rachel and Corey Combs all of Canton, MO and Jodie (Phil) Sheeley of Columbia, MO.
Great-Grandchildren, Connor, Jonathon, Danielle and Israel Blumke; Alionna and Liam Combs; Isabella and William Blumke; Leah Sheeley; Aiden and Ben Rucker; Gatlyn Job; and a step-grandson, Peyton. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Life Tabernacle located at 31460 MO-16 Canton, MO. A private inurnment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy. Memorials are suggested to the family for a memorial to be determined in Marie’s honor.
Scott, Sorry to hear about your Mom bud. She was a great lady and always enjoyed her kindness when me and you hung out as kids. My sincerest condolences.
