Mary M. Deeter, age 89, of 2120 South 8th, formerly of Mendon, IL, died on Monday, October 30, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on April 1, 1928 in Lyons, Iowa, the daughter of James & Clara (Brown) Swanson. She married Carroll Deeter on March 31, 1951. He preceded her in death in 1971.

Mary was all about family and loved anytime she was able to be with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She also loved her dog, “Tabby”.

She is survived by:
CHILDREN: Larry Deeter and his wife Tee of Kentucky, Kenny Deeter and his wife Victoria of Cleveland, Tennessee; Evelyn Cantrell of Amarillo, TX; Steven Deeter and his wife Linda of Mendon, IL; Barbara Jones and her husband Steve of Quincy, IL; Marilyn Deeter of Amarillo, TX; and Christopher Deeter.
20 Grandchildren along with numerous great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter Wanda Deeter. Mary was also the last of her generation having been also preceded in death by her 14 siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from noon until the time of the services at 1:00. Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
