Mary Louise Bradfield
Mary Louise Bradfield, age 94, of Quincy died on Friday, August 23, 2024, in Blessing Hospital. She was born on April 23, 1930, the daughter of Floyd and Mary (Hutmacher) Rose. She married, George L. Bradfield, Sr. on September 30, 1950, in St. John Catholic Church, Quincy. He preceded her in death on March 13, 1999.
Mary truly found her calling as a beautician. She enjoyed meeting and making new friends and sharing stories. She was also very talented with many different arts/crafts, sewing, cross-stitch, painting, ceramics and stained glass. Mary loved tending to her home, property and flower gardens.
She loved her family very much and always enjoyed cooking and hosting holiday and celebration meals. Her grandchildren still remember when they were young the Sunday night chocolate malted milkshakes, popcorn and card games.
Since her retirement, she had enjoyed volunteering at the Quincy Senior
Center, helping with their newsletter and Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her son, George (Sara) Bradfield, Jr of Quincy; siblings, Clarence “Butch” Rose and Theresa Lorenson; brother-in-law, George Doellman and sister-in-law, Margie Rose of Quincy. Grandchildren, Marsha (Eric) Lundberg, Palmyra, MO, Dan (Heather) Bradfield, Chad (Melissa) Bradfield, Jamie Bradfield all of Quincy, Scott (Kristin) Bradfield of Ft. Collins, CO. Great grandchildren, Jackson and Jonathan Lundberg of Palmyra, MO, Devin, Aubrielle, Bryson, Caylee, Elise, Gavin, Cassidy Bradfield all of Quincy and Oliver Bradfield of Ft. Collins, CO. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Karen Bradfield, brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe (Vi) Rose and Charles (Velma) Rose, sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane (John) Meyer and Shirley (Dick) Hultz, sister, Dora “Dodie” Doellman, brother, Gerald Rose, sister-in-law, Patty Rose, all her husband’s siblings, Dorothy, Vivian, Bill, Orville, Raymond and Willis; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 9:30 AM at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at 10 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. George, Sara and family, Sympathy on you lost. I always enjoyed looking at your mom’s home when driving by,the flowers were always gorgeous and everything was neet as could be. Prayers to all.

Our condolences to the family. We only met Mary over the past year, being her neighbor. We had many long, meaningful talks on her front porch. She was so full of fire and told it how it was. We loved her spunk. How sad to lose a dear neighbor. May she rest in peace !
