Mary Lou Head
Mary Lou Head, age 91, of Quincy, formerly of Macon, MO, died on Sunday, July 2, 2023 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Clarence, MO.
She married Melvin Head, Sr. and he preceded her in death.
Mary was a housekeeper and then later a homemaker caring for her grandchildren.
Mary was a member of the former Rubey Street Baptist Church in Macon, MO.
Mary liked to take rides in the countryside. She also liked cooking, sitting on her front porch watching the cars go by and sharing stories with children and her grandchildren.

HER DAUGHTER: Lena Jones (Rev. Dr. Orville B. Jones, Jr.) of Quincy
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, Joe Douglas and Lena Cooley Douglas, sons Melvin ‘Beaver’ Head, Jr. and Shawn Head and all of her siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 12:00 Noon in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Immediately after services, interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Macon, MO.
Visitation will be held at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services at noon. www.dukerandhaugh.com
Mary was such a sweet lady. She always wanted to talk and share stories about her family. Mary was a joy to care for. Never complained even though she wasn’t feeling well. She will be missed. RIP Mary.
