Mary Lou Anderson
Mary Lou Anderson, age 69, of Quincy, IL, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2018.
Mary Lou was born January 4, 1949 in Quincy, Illinois to Lawrence and Marie Klauser. She was one of twelve children and to hear her tell the story, five minutes older and wiser than her identical twin sister Marcia Hilbing.
She married the love of her life William “Bill” Anderson May 10, 1969 in Quincy, IL.
Mary Lou was loved and respected by everyone that had the privilege of knowing her. She was beautiful inside and out. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet, simple and caring demeanor that won the hearts of many. Her constant nurturing love and faith in God served as an example we should all aspire to achieve. Her signature smile will never be forgotten. She was our north, our south, our east and our west.
Mary Lou was a renowned world traveler who especially loved going on cruises with her husband Bill. Her most treasured cruises were in 2006, 2013 and 2016 when her and “Papa Bill” were able to take the entire family with them. It was not uncommon for Mary Lou and Bill to have multiple cruises booked years in advance much to the liking of Royal Caribbean International. They have already sent their sincere and deepest regrets.
Her love for family was second to nothing throughout her life. Her husband Bill, 11 brothers and sisters, four children, nine grandchildren and countless “honorary” grandchildren who knew her as Grandma Anderson were the center of her world. She loved and protected them passionately. She could be found on any given day attending the various events the grandchildren participated in. Sporting events, Pom-Pon, Dance Recitals, Quiz Bowl or any other event that afforded her the opportunity to crow like a rooster about the successes of her beloved family.
These final words are an inadequate expression of the sorrow we feel in our hearts with the passing of Mary Lou. She meant so much to so many and each person who was fortunate enough to have known her will forever remember the legacy she has left.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: HER FOUR CHILDREN: Brian Anderson and his wife Jeanne; Christie Jones and her husband David, Kevin Anderson and his wife Laura; Ashley Anderson along with her fiancé Brad Dixon.
Mary Lou is also survived by her siblings: her twin sister Marcia Hilbing and her husband Tom, Connie Roan and her husband Charles, Larry Klauser and his wife Kathy, Donna Wild and her husband Lenny, Joe Klauser and his wife DeAnna, Michael Klauser, Linda Dietrich, Roger Klauser and his wife Debbie, Jim Klauser and his wife Carol, & Nancy Klues and her husband Bill.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Charles Klauser.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:30 AM in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church or to Blessing Behavioral Center.
