Mary L. Timpe

Mary L. Timpe, age 79, of 2301 Northridge Dr., died on Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 3:00 AM in Blessing Hospital. She was born on December 6, 1930 in Quincy, the daughter of Harold N. & Stella (Wolfmeyer) Poe. She married A. Ralph Timpe on September 30, 1950 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives.

Mary was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish. She participated in the Cursillo movement in the Quincy area. She was a member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. Mary received national recognition from the Chapel of Four Chaplains. She was a former member of Cedar Crest Country Club. Mary was an awesome cook, she loved crafts and playing cards with her friends on Wednesday. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was her family.

FIVE CHILDREN: Charlotte Miller-Brawner and her husband Ron of Ashland, MO; Sandy Kain and her husband Kevin of American Canyon, CA; Helen Zimmerman and her husband Wayne of Quincy; Ralph G. Timpe and his wife Linda of Quincy; and John Timpe and his wife Debbie of Glenview, IL
NINE GRANDCHILDREN: Kenneth Miller III, Justin Miller and his wife Beth, Joseph Miller, Matthew Kain, Diane Zimmerman, Steven Zimmerman and his wife Heather; John Timpe II, Michael Timpe and Jessica Timpe.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Natalie Zimmerman and Evelyn Zimmerman.
ONE BROTHER: William Poe and his wife Judy of Bethel, MO
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, 3 children in infancy: Michael, Judith and Mary Timpe and one brother: Harold E. Poe.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Msgr. Michael Kuse. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 with a Parish Prayer service at 4:00. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Parish.

    Helen, so sorry to hear of your mothers passing. No doubt you were a dear daughter to her–providing love, compassion and care throughout her illnesses and hospitalizations. I’m sure you have many happy family memories that will carry you through this difficult time. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
