Mary E. Carter

Mary E. Carter, age 84, died on Monday, April 1, 2024, in Blessing Hospital. She was born in Quincy, IL on October 5, 1939, a daughter of Ross and Pansy Masters.

Mary worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant until her retirement in 2013.

She is survived by:

CHILDREN: Wanda Kerchief of Rockford, IL, Steven Carter of LaGrange, MO and James Carter (Tara) of Quincy, IL.

GRANDCHILDREN: Stephanie Carter, Aaron Kerchief, Sara Kerchief, Mary Rachel Kerchief, Andrea Jorgenson, Alice Hickey and RheaAnn Gillette

GREATGRANDCHILDREN: Gracie, Josephine, Jace, Harper, Isobel, Jakob and Brandon.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son Paul Carter, a grandson Wilbur Carter, and her brothers.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Wanda Steve Jim , I am so sorry to here of your Mothers passing.No matter where I seen her she would always stop to talk to me. We was always a very kind person.Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

    To Mary’s Family, I was one of Mary’s Meals on Wheels volunteers. She was always so sweet, thankful and happy to see me. I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss her each week on Thursday. God bless!!

    To Mary’s family: I was the Meals on Wheels volunteer that came on the Monday of her passing. I always enjoyed talking with her, she was a pleasure to deliver meals to. I am so sorry for your loss, she was a dear sweet person!! I will miss her on Mondays. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
