Mary Dorothy Huckstep
Mary Dorothy Huckstep, age 84, of Quincy, died on Monday, October 23, 2023 in her home. She was born on December 12, 1938, in Quincy the daughter of Raymond and Evelyn (Sass) Eickelschulte. She married Donald Huckstep on June 25, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Mrs. Huckstep worked for Dr. Shaw until having children when she became a housewife and mother. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Mary loved to camp with her family. She bowled in a Couples league with her husband Don on Saturday nights at Turner Hall. She also loved to bake and share her freezer stash of cookies and Zucchini or banana bread. Mary also did fine crochet work.
Mary is survived by:
HER CHILDREN: Donald S. Huckstep (Amy); Christopher Huckstep (Angie); Ann Marie Downey (Erick) Brent Huckstep (Samantha); and Mary Lynn Florea (Ryan).
GRANDCHILDREN: Donald H. Huckstep (Abbi Thomas); Steven Huckstep (Allysa Mayer); Bradley Huckstep, Tiffany Huckstep; Gregory Huckstep (Candice); Christie Huckstep (Jazmyne James); Samantha Burgtorf (Chris); Jacob Griffith (Taylor), Sierrah Downey; Cody Blessing (Taylor); Isabella Huckstep; Mary Evelyn Florea, McCoy Florea, Lilly Florea, and Emery Florea.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Noah Miller, Grady Mayer-Huckstep, Harlee Huckstep, Hunter Huckstep; Katherine Huckstep, Jesse Griffith, Emmett Blessing, Logan Burgtorf and Ariah Kopper
SIBLINGS: Ronald Eickelschulte (Rosie) and Margie Eickelschulte
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
In addition to her husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her daughter: Kathalenn Huckstep; Grandchildren: Zachary and Madilynn Florea and siblings: Tom Eickelschulte, Jo Ann Wietholder and Carol Eickelschulte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to an educational fund for her grandchildren. So sorry for the loss of your Mother and Grandmother. She was a good neighbor! Thoughts and prayers to the family.
I will remember Mary being giving and carrying. Always had time to talk when I would see her in town.
