Mary D. Abbey

Mary D. Abbey, age 75, of Quincy, died on Monday, March 22, 2021 in her home. She was born on February 12, 1946 in LaBelle, MO the daughter of Artie Manley and Ethel Clay. She married Owen Abbey. He preceded her in death. Mary was a CNA and recently worked at Mobile Health in Ft. Madison, IA.

Mary was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Richard (Stacy) Manley of Canton, MO; Michael (Susan) Abbey of Ft. Madison, IA; Mary Martin Abbey of Quincy; Tony (Helena) Abbey of Keokuk, IA; and Jeff (Melissa) Abbey of Ft. Madison, IA.
SIBLINGS: Mike Manley; Virginia (Danny) Humphrey, Johnny Johnson; George (Brenda) Johnson, and Joyce (Davis) Bolton and her dear friend, Melanie Waterman.
Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister: Leota Manley Gay and her best friend and sister-in-law, Evelyn Manley.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Private family services will be held at a later date. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
