Marvin Tourney, Jr.
Marvin Tourney, Jr., age 73, of Quincy, died on Saturday, July 1, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on January 14, 1944 in Quincy, the son of Marvin and Marjorie (Dace) Tourney. He was a 1962 graduate of Quincy Senior High School and Served in the United States Navy from 1962 – 1964 aboard the USS Little Rock. He married Joyce Hilgenbrink on April 20, 1968 in Quincy. She survives. Marvin worked at Gardner Denver for over forty years until his retirement.
He enjoyed riding wave runners and motorcycles, going to movies, and loved animals. He enjoyed walking his dogs daily.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
TWO CHILDREN: James (Katherine Wisniewski) Tourney of Quincy, IL and Lisa (Teresa) Francis-Tourneyof Moline, IL.
ONE GRANDSON: Mathew Tourney
THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
ONE BROTHER: David (Traci) Tourney
ONE SISTER: Rebecca (Russell) Smith
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 6th, 2017 at 12:00 noon at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Humane Society.
