Marvin R. Russell
Marvin R. Russell, age 88, of Quincy, died on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 6:30 PM in the Sunset Home. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Quincy, the son of Clyde and Helen (Ash) Russell. He married Joan E. Ehrhardt on June 21, 1958. She preceded him in death on May 8, 2019.
Marvin was an electrician for the Electric Wheel and then later for Quincy University. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Marvin enjoyed hunting and fishing, golf and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by four children: Rick (Donna Clifford) Russell of Fort Madison, IA, Janice (Ken) Nord of Quincy, Sherri (Tim) Musholt of Westfield, IN and Melissa (James) Flanagan of Lee’s Summit, MO; grandchildren, Shannan (Wes) Gahr, William, Taylor and Benjamin Nord, Raymond and Mary Kate Musholt, Annaliesa and James Thomas (JT) Flanagan, II; great-grandchildren, Tessa and Paxton Lesesne, Thatcher and Lorelei Gahr; and Adrian and Amaya Russell. In-law: Phyllis Ehrhardt and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his wife, Marvin was also preceded in death by his parents, a son David Russell, a grandson Richard L. Russell, a sister Charlotte Mohrling and her husband Kenny and In-Laws: Walter Ehrhardt and his wife Loretta, Roger Ehrhardt and his wife Leola, Eugene Ehrhardt, Bill Ehrhardt, Andrew Ehrhardt, James Ehrhardt and his wife Roberta, Leo Ehrhardt, Tony Ehrhardt and Lawrence Ehrhardt and his wife Irene; Anna Mae Obert and her husband Donald, and Rosemary Frericks and her husband Matt.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic School or to Blessing Foundation for Hospice. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
