Marvin J. Totsch
Marvin J. Totsch, age 80, of the Illinois Veterans Home, formerly of 2945 Hampshire, died on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 4:17 PM at Blessing Hospital. He was born on September 29, 1929 in Clayton Township, IL the son of Frank & Elizabeth (Syrcle) Totsch. Mr. Totsch was a welder at Knapheide Manufacturing for many years until his retirement. Mr. Totsch served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Marvin was a member of the Lutheran Church of St. John. He was a member of the Local IAM #822, the Eagles Aeri #535, the VFW and the AMVETS. He was also a member of the NRA. Marvin greatly enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking & raising rabbits.

TWO DAUGHTERS: Cindy Duesdieker and her husband Kirk of Quincy and Nancy Totsch of Quincy and her significant other, Tom Boll of Liberty
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Christopher Duesdieker, Nicole Duesdieker, Sara VanBlair and Tyler VanBlair
ONE GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Zachary VanBlair
ONE BROTHER: Seldon Totsch and his wife Mary Jane of Liberty
ONE SISTER: Esther Hendricks and her husband Harry of Quincy
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Harold Totsch and 2 sisters: Margie Johnson and Ruth Graham.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Lutheran Church of St. John by Pastor Harold Bender. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park with military rites conducted at the cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Church of St. John or to the Illinois Veterans Home Activites Fund.
