Marty Stevens
Marty Stevens, age 63, of Quincy, IL died on Friday, April 18, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on February 17, 1951 in Quincy the son of Arbin and Dorothy (Martin) Stevens. After the early death of his father, Dorothy later married Eugene Nelson who helped to raise Marty.
Marty married Joyce Dodd on July 29, 1972 in Palmyra, MO. She survives. Marty retired from the Northeast Power Co in February of 2013. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf, was an avid sports fan, and greatly enjoyed the time spent with his children and grandchildren. His quiet humbleness will be remembered by all and missed dearly.
In addition to his wife, Marty is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Brent Stevens and his wife Paula of Republic, MO; Curtis Stevens of Los Angeles, CA; and Casey Stevens and his wife Amanda of Olathe, KS
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Sadie and Ty Stevens and Keller and Keane Stevens.
ONE SISTER: Joyce Oakley and her husband Bill of Quincy
His extended family of numerous brothers and sisters in-law and countless nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.
