Martin “Eddie” Sutton

Martin “Eddie” Sutton, age 69, of Liberty, died Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at his residence.

He was born May 23, 1953 in Quincy, the son of Arnold Edward and Martha Eva Pearl (Warning) Sutton.

He is survived by his children and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers; Roy Sutton, George (Diane) Sutton and Rodger Sutton; one sister, Mary Turner and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, William and Lewis Sutton.

Mr. Sutton was a 1971 graduate of Liberty High School and was employed by Dot Foods, as a truck driver, until his retirement. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church, where he served as a past deacon and was a very close friend of pastors, Terry Henry and Gordon Blankenship. Recently some of the church members went on a bus trip to the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter in Kentucky. Eddie was able to go and he had a great time. He loved camping, attending car shows and Nascar, Kyle Busch being his favorite driver. Eddie also raced at Quincy Speedway for several years and acquired the name, Fast Eddie while driving car #53. He had many friends and family members that he adored and cared about.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Christian Church.
