Marsha Irene Vance-Hutmacher
Marsha Irene Vance-Hutmacher passed away on January 9, 2019 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy surrounded by her loving family. Marsha was 72 years old, born September 18, 1946. She graduated from Quincy High School. She married Lawrence J. Hutmacher in 1964.
Marsha is survived by her husband, two sons, Lawrence A. “Dru” Hutmacher and Tracy Hutmacher, a daughter-in-law, Julie Hutmacher, all of Quincy;
three granddaughters, Taylor Hutmacher-Stephens, and her husband, Dr. Codey Stephens of Nashville, TN; Allie Hutmacher and fiancee Tyler Durst of Quincy,
and Hannah Hutmacher-Longlett of Liberty, and two great-grandchildren, Knox Warning Stephens and Liam Daniel Durst.
Marsha is also survived by her brothers. Dr. Richard (Gail) Vance of Quincy and Dr. Thomas J. (Vicky) Vance of Quincy,
and sister in law, Jeanette Vance of Indianapolis, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Marsha was an amazing woman with a very loving and feisty personality. She had a heart of gold and anyone who came in contact with her could not help but be touched by her infectious personality.
She was a wonderful storyteller and loved to reminisce about her years of showing horses with the Pony of the Americas Club. She was an avid and lifelong member of the club and served on the Illinois POA board for many years.
Marsha worked alongside her father and brother as the Office Manager of Vance Chiropractic for over 10 years.
Marsha also owned and operated Rocking H Antiques In Barry, IL, and was instrumental in coordinating many renovation projects of historic buildings in Quincy, and in Barry Illinois.
Marsha also owned and operated Hooty’s Bar and Grill in Quincy for more than 20 years.
She was always there to greet everyone with a smile and was a friend to many.
Marsha was also a lover of animals and leaves behind her beloved dog Cookie.
Marsha’s greatest joy in life was her family. She spent countless hours with each-and every one of them.
She was a huge influence in all-of their lives.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents Dr. Thomas W. and Irene Vance,
her brother James A. Vance “Jim”, Sister-in-law, Carol Vance, and her nephew Cameron Vance.
A Memorial service will be held at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
Visitation from 4 pm to 6 pm Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.
Burial will be at-a later date in Bentley, IL.
Memorials can be made to Quest of Quincy and the Blessing Hospital Breast Cancer Center.
