Mark E. Lewis

Mark E. Lewis, age 51, of 3200 State Street, Quincy, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at 12:36 a.m. in the Emergency Room at Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 26, 1958 in Quincy, Illinois, a son of Leo Larry and Eleanora Juanita Mae (Dade) Lewis, Sr.

Mark was baptized at the Green Chapel Baptist Church in LaGrange, Missouri.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was known for his smile and he was a jokester.

Survivors include:
FOUR DAUGHTERS: Takayo Phillips and her husband Kevin, Kayla Lewis, and Eden Lewis all of Quincy, and Ashley Lewis of Moline, Illinois;
BROTHERS & SISTERS: Harry Lewis, Loretta Lewis, and George Dade all of Quincy, and Victoria Lewis of Detroit, MI;
GRANDCHILDREN: Takasia, Tatiana, Nevaeh, Elaja, Jeramiah, and two on the way;
THREE AUNTS: Virginia M. Dade and Rosemary Lewis both of LaGrange, MO, and Carmelita Watkins of Quincy.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Juanita Mae Lewis and Alice Darlene Bell, and a brother, Leo Larry Lewis, Jr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery in LaGrange, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 – 12:00 Noon at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Quincy Senior & Family Resource Center.

    He will always be in our hearts. He was a wonderful man and loved you girls alot. I am so sorry to hear of his passing but now he is never going to have to suffer. He will be missed

    Im so sorry to here about Mark as you know he was always my friend, I will miss his jokes and fun nature,it just won’t be the same without him

    Mark was a father figure in my life for a period in my life and will be greatly missed by me and my family. R.i.p Pops. We love u.
