Marilyn J. Huner, age 77, of 1619 Windemere Ct., died on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at 12:35 AM in Good Samaritan Home. She was born on July 28, 1939 in Quincy, the daughter of Marshall Monroe and Jessie Leona (Wright) Knowles. She married Jerry “Dutch” Huner on May 8, 1959 in Quincy, IL. He survives. Marilyn worked for the City of Quincy from 1979 until 1996. She was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ.

Marilyn was known for her wonderful peanut brittle that she passed out every year at Christmas.

THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Kamden Huner, Karson Huner and Kenleigh Huner
THREE BROTHERS: Raymond Knowles and his wife Mary of Lacoste, TX: Robert Knowles and his wife Mavis of Soddy Daisy, TN; & John Knowles of Quincy
FOUR SISTERS: Shorty Lovelace of Rossville, GA: Norma Cook and her husband Warren of Mendon, IL; Sandy Dailing and her husband Ron and Imy Knowles all of Quincy. A Special Niece Judi Mohrman
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson Ethan Huner, a brother James Knowles, and sisters: Mary Mendenhall, Chrystal Knowles and Alice Knowles and by her special dog Sami.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Greenmount Cemetery. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services.
