Marilyn Burgtorf, age 91, of the Good Samaritan Home, died on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in the Home. She was born on April 4, 1931 in Quincy the daughter of Walter and Bertha Schutte. She was a graduate of Quincy Notre Dame High School. She married Dale Burgtorf on June 23, 1951. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1993.

Marilyn most recently worked as a secretary for Lohman Accounting. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Marilyn enjoyed being outdoors and following her son’s racing career. She was hardworking and was well known for her baking of divinity and fudge at Christmas time.

She is survived by:
ONE SON: Mark Burgtorf and his wife Melissa of Quincy
ONE GRANDSON: Cale Burgtorf and his fiancé Kelly Wrap

In addition to her husband, Marilyn was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Russell ‘Bill’ Schutte, Ginny Brown, and Sister Jeanette Schutte.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital of St. Louis, MO or to the Good Samaritan Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
