MARILYN THERESA BARNES OBITUARY

Marilyn Theresa Barnes, age 78, of Sycamore Healthcare Centre, formerly of 1420 Elm Street, Quincy, passed away peacefully to meet her Savior on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 12:20 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. She was born on October 26, 1929 in Quincy, Illinois. She was a daughter of John & Pearl (Steinway) Roling. She married Raymond E. Barnes on August 27, 1948 in Quincy, Illinois. He survives.

Mrs. Barnes was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

She was a graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College. She was a housewife. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and Poppy more than anything else in the world.

In addition to her husband, survivors include:
SONS: Timothy Barnes and his wife Connie, Thomas Barnes and his wife Joan, and Theodore Barnes and his wife Lisa, all of Quincy;
DAUGHTERS: Cynthia East of Quincy, & Mary Lynn Trenter of Quincy;
THIRTEEN GRANDCHILDREN;
TWENTY GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
Several nieces & nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald Roling, two sisters, Virginia Felker & Norma Monckton, and two grandchildren, Thomas Allen East, and Miah Elaine Durk.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:30 at St. Francis Catholic Church by Father James Wheeler. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a parish prayer service at 4:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Sycamore Healthcare Center.
