Marie Y. Mudd, age 93, of Quincy, died on December 29, 2016 at 9:56 a.m. in Blessing Hospital.
Marie was born May 14, 1923 in Hannibal, MO, a daughter of Harry & Willamina (Miller) Barker. She married William “Bill” J. Mudd on June 20, 1946 in Hannibal, MO, he preceded her in death on February 10, 1994. Marie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish.
She liked to go on trips with her husband Bill, she also liked to read, quilt and play cards. Marie’s greatest joy was her family and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two daughters, Barbara (Jim) Daggett and Debra (Rick) Schuering all of Quincy. Six grandchildren, Jeffrey (Diana) Daggett of Vahlmeyer, IL; Kimberly (Stacey) Slater; Andrew (Jessica) Daggett all of Quincy; Michael (Jessica) Schuering of Gypsum, CO; Ryan (Bridget) Schuering of Downers Grove, IL and Andrew (Leann) Schuering of Chesterfield, MO. Seventeen great-grandchildren also survive.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Glenn Barker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 7th & Adams Streets. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Blessed Sacrament Parish or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. www.dukerandhaugh.com
