Maria A. Creech age 76, of Plainville, IL died on Thursday, February 1, 2018 in her home.
She was born October 13, 1941 in Quincy, a daughter of Nathan and Ethel (Pollock) Newberry. Maria married Eugene Creech and together they had four children.
She was retired, from CRC Transitions. Prior to that she had worked many years at Motorola and Quincy Paper Box.
Maria was of the Christian faith. She was a 1959 graduate of Payson Seymour High School.
Maria dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved her dog “Bunny” and feeding her hummingbirds.
Survivors include her children: Eugene Creech, Jr. of Plainville; Kelly (Roger) Gordon of Payson, IL; Melissa Little of Barry, IL and John (Emily) Creech of Quincy.
Five Grandchildren: Jasmine (Drew) Van Hecke; Arielle Gordon; Kindell Brown; Kassidy and Gracie Creech. Four Great-Grandchildren: Faith and Luke Van Hecke; Jentry Sweet and Copeland Creech.
A brother, Bob Newberry of Plainville, IL and a sister, Mary Lou Chapman of Payson. Nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Bill Newberry.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Robert Cook. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, from 12 Noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Horizons Food Pantry. Funeral arrangements for Maria A.
