Marguerite L. Aschemann, age 100, of 1112 Shady Acres Lane, Quincy, died on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in Blessing Hospital. She was born July 13, 1911 in Quincy, a daughter of Rellie & Amelia (Krogman) Lawyer. She married Robert J. Aschemann on April 25, 1939 in St. Peter Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1993.

Marguerite worked for many years at the Adams County Courthouse. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Secular Franciscans and a former member of St. Mary’s Hospital Guild and the Our Lady of Angels Seminary Guild.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Schleppenbach and her husband John of Quincy and two grandchildren Jay & Megan Schleppenbach, both of Chicago, IL.

In addition to her husband, Robert, and her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Bud Lawyer and a sister Josephine Lawyer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday morning at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00. Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Province, c/o Holy Cross Friary or the Quincy University Music Department. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
