Margarette H. Engelbrecht
Margarette H. Engelbrecht, age 68 of Ursa, IL, died on June 22, 2016 in the home of her brother in Mendon. She was born on February 18, 1948 in Quincy, the daughter of Courtney B. and Lillian (Hammond) West. She married Larry Engelbrecht on June 20, 1985. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2013.
Margarette was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and reading and loved her cats and favorite television shows. She liked taking trips, but mostly enjoyed being at home.
She is survived by two sons: Shawn Engelbrecht of Ursa and Mark Engelbrecht of the state of Washington (serving in the US Navy); one granddaughter: Bella Engelbrecht and seven siblings: Donnie (Jennifer) Rossiter of LaPrairie, James (Deborah) West of Mendon, Ralph Jordon of Fowler, Brenda (Lloyd) Leenerts of Golden, Courtney (Amy) West of Ursa, Terry West of Mendon, and Gary (Angie) West of the state of Washington.
Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Aaron Engelbrecht.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10:30 am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Sunset Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 until the time of the services. Memorials are to the family or Blessing Hospice.
Sorry to hear of Punky’s passing. Have not seen her in years but we go back to the early 70’s. I worked with uncles Alvin and Buzz. She lived in Durham, Mo. Again, my thoughts are with you.
