Margaret Ohnemus Obituary

Margaret E. Ohnemus age 90, of Fowler died on Thursday, June 25, 2009 in her home with her family. Mrs. Ohnemus was born on February 11, 1919 in Quincy, the daughter of Theodore and Mary (Siebers) Koetters.

She married Richard F. Ohnemus on February 19, 1944 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Quincy. He died October 16, 1985. She was retired from Kmart.

Margaret enjoyed quilting, flowers and gardening. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society and Quilter’s Group. She was a very hard worker.

Survivors include five sons, Virgil and wife Brenda of Fowler, Leo and wife Cheryl of Mendon, Alvin and wife Janet of Payson, Norbert and Paul of the home.
One sister, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Blickhan of Quincy; two brothers Lawrence Koetters of Payson and Ralph Koetters of Quincy; a sister-in-law Martha Koetters of Quincy;

Twelve grandchildren, Virgil Ohnemus, Jr. and Jayna Klauser both of Payson, Pamela Hickman of Liberty, John Ohnemus of Mendon, Cpl. Jeffery A. Ohnemus of Camp Pendleton, CA, Carla Ohnemus and Judy Schoenekase of Mendon, Peggy Austin, Paula Patterson and Amy Ohnemus of Quincy; Michele Ohnemus of Columbia, MO and Ryan Ohnemus of Chicago, IL.

Also, 17 Great- Grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Paul, Elmer and Raymond Koetters , a grandson, Richie Ohnemus and a sister-in-law, Leona Koetters,

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. Jeff Stone.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation is Sunday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home, with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
